Every RocketTheme template is accompanied by custom content styles known as Typography. This guide outlines how to use Typography in your content.
All the typography in the template have RokCandy syntax which is outlined at the RokCandy Examples page. In this guide, we will use the Attention Span Style, which uses the [div class="attention" class2="typo-icon"]...[/div] syntax.
As RokCandy is not affected by the stripping functions of the WYSIWYG editor, you can insert the RokCandy snippets without any issue. If you are in HTML mode, the snippets will still function.
Every RokCandy typographical element can be used in its HTML form as outlined at the HTML Examples page. HTML typography allows for more custom control in the article but requires an additional step. In this guide, we will use the Attention Span Style, which uses the <div class="attention"><div class="typo-icon">...</div></div> syntax.
Note, with the Content Editor (WYSIWYG) enabled, you need to enter HTML mode otherwise the typography will not work. If you are running no editor, this is not the case as you are interacting with the content at a code level.
The following tutorial outlines how to edit the logo with Adobe Fireworks CS4. Fireworks is required for logo editing. (CS3 can be used with our sources).
Open the quasar-logo-source.png file in Adobe Fireworks.
Focus on the right column, titled Layers. Select the Web layers directory and click the eye icon to the left of the logo slice (the green object). This will make the slice invisible so you can edit the file.
Double click on the logo text. Now you can edit the text of logo to your choosing.
Now, double click on the slogan text. Now you can edit the text of slogan to your choosing.
Now, select the icon and disable it, if you so wish.
Reactivate the Slice in the Web Layers column, this will place a green rectangle over the logo image. Change the size of the slice to match the new size if applicable.
Now you will want to export the logo. Right click on the image slice and select Exported Selected Slices... from the contextual menu. Proceed to export it to your computer for uploading.
If you are new to Fireworks, you may be wondering why it appears that there is only one style variation in the source. This is not the case as we take advantage of the Frame features of Fireworks. You need to simply switch frames to see all the other style variation sources.
There are a few ways to change frames and we will show 2 methods that you can use.
In the right column where you find the Layers toolbar including the Web Layers area, you should see another tab/toolbar named Frames. Just left click on the title Frames to enter the frames area. Then you can click on either of the frames which are named to show which style variant is on that particular frame.
The second method is the most easiest and simplistic. At the bottom of the Fireworks canvas is a row of buttons, arrows just as previous and next. Select the arrows to switch between frames.
Once you have successfully edited then exported your new logo, you will need to upload it to your server. This process is best done via a FTP client such as Filezilla
You can control all the Presets via the template manager configuration. All 6 presets appear at Extensions → Template Manager → rt_quasar_j15 → Presets.
You would then adjust the parameters in Settings to meet your requirements. On selection of a preset, the administrator automatically updates the Settings to match that particular preset. This is where you will edit the options to meet your requirements such as CSS Style. This system allows you to quickly and effortlessly customise a preset to your liking.
The options are as follows, and the areas that they control are indicative in their name:-

In the event that you need to customise all the preset arrays, and do not wish to use the template administrator, then you can customise the preset arrays in the gantry.config.php file. Do note that it is much easier to use the template administrator, and editing the preset array is only really necessary if you wanted to use multiple custom configurations on your site which is uncommon.
Quasar is outfitted for support for a CSS driven dropdown menu. Setup is simple, just follow the instructions below:-
Effectively, all you need to do is assign a Menu Module to the Header-B position.
In order for menu dropdowns in Moomenu and Suckerfish, and the dropline / side column items of Splitmenu to appear, you need to setup parent and child menu items.
Perform the same task for all menu items that you wish to be child items.
RocketLauncher is a Joomla installation package that installs Joomla as the demo. The launcher installs the sample data, which has been customised to match the demo, and the template, extensions and images are already built in. The launcher is the best method to replicate the demo with ease.
Due to the complexity of our demos, it is much easier to see it in action then it is to read in written tutorials and / or viewing screenshots. Therefore, the process of using the template on your Joomla site is much faster, simpler and makes for a better experience.
We use the latest Joomla version available at the time for our launchers and when Joomla updates, we proceed to update all the launchers so they are up to date for all new downloads. Please go to the Joomla Downloads repository to see what version the RocketLauncher is using.
For information on upgrading Joomla, please see: http://docs.joomla.org
Note, on some servers, you can upload the zip and extract the package directly onto your server using cPanel or SSH access. For more details on this, please contact your hosting provider.
Learn the steps to uploading the RocketLauncher package files to your server and installing the RocketLauncher template package by following along with the steps in this detailed video tutorial. It's now easier than ever before to deploy a replica of the RocketTheme template demo sites.
Uploading RocketLauncher to your RootAn in depth guide that details the steps necessary to properly upload the files from the RocketLauncher template package directly to the root of your site. This will ensure your RocketLauncher installation installs to the root of your site, and not in a subfolder.
Updating RocketLauncher / Joomla on MacIf you are a Mac user and develop in a localhost environment, you will want to use Terminal to update your Joomla as it is the fastest and simplest way to update locally on a Mac.
